About Us
Component Sourcing International, LLC (CSI) is a Strategic Sourcing™ company which manufactures custom metal components in a variety of product categories including: 1) Precision screw machine parts, 2) Castings and Forgings, 3) CNC Machined parts, 4) Fabricated metal components. CSI's services are primarily targeted to medium-sized companies which do not have the in-house resources, capabilities, or expertise to properly analyze and implement international sourcing strategies.
The foundation of CSI was created in 1998, when a group of medium-sized industrial product manufacturers based in the U.S.A. joined together to respond to an environment of shrinking margins and increased competition from Asia in their respective industries. Each company identified components of their end products which were produced inefficiently in their US-based factories. The effort culminated in formation of a captive manufacturing operation in Qingdao, China to make these components more efficiently and at significant cost savings. This sourcing initiative was an outstanding success, and several companies ranging from industrial ladders to hydraulic equipment, are now leaders rather than followers in their industries.
